Overview
Mia Thorne is the late closest friend of Lilia Eberhardt and the absent centre of The Witch Of Chronicles. She meets Lilia while managing Chrysalis Bookstore and becomes the first person after Lilia’s exile to pursue a friendship without demanding her magical usefulness.
In 2024, Mia is found dead in her family home. The death is ruled a suicide, but the circumstances never sit comfortably with Lilia. One year later, the search for the Book Of Memories gives Lilia a possible route back to the unanswered questions surrounding her friend.
Almost every deeper fact about Mia is tied to the trilogy’s central mystery. This page therefore records only what a new reader can safely know before the investigation unfolds.
Personality
Mia is charismatic, confident, playful and socially fearless. She crosses distances that Lilia is afraid to cross and treats connection as a choice rather than an accident.
She is perceptive enough to recognise the insecurity beneath Lilia’s cheerful presentation. Rather than pitying her, Mia challenges the assumption that past rejection determines how everybody else must see her.
Mia can also be stubborn, rebellious and sharp-tongued. Her warmth is not passivity; she is willing to provoke people when politeness would preserve a lie. She speaks easily about identity, mortality and personal purpose without surrendering her appetite for ordinary life.
Appearance
Mia has dirty-blonde wavy hair with neatly cut bangs, soft facial features and brown eyes that can appear to carry a burgundy-red glint.
She carries herself with unusual confidence. Her presence feels almost bewitching even when nothing outwardly supernatural is occurring. Her exact height, build and complete everyday wardrobe remain TBC.
