| Name | Chrysalis Bookstore |
| Type | Civilian bookshop |
| Location | Greenwich |
| Known staff | Mia Thorne, Lilia Eberhardt and Kate |
| Narrative role | Site of Lilia and Mia’s friendship |
Chrysalis Bookstore is the Greenwich shop where Mia and Lilia work together and become close friends. It is an ordinary civilian space whose emotional importance far exceeds its magical profile.
Books and conversation make it a natural home for the series’ recurring concern with memory and meaning.
Known History
Selene visits the bookstore after Mia’s death looking for The Myth Of Sisyphus, which Mia had recommended. The encounter leaves Lilia with the same uneasy impression as their first meeting and supplies another clue that Mia’s social world contained hidden connections.
The store also employs Kate, who treats Lilia with unusual fragility after the death. Chrysalis remains part of the world Mia built outside the Harbingers, making her erasure and the family’s forgetting more painful.
History And Development
Lilia and Mia work here from about 2023 until Mia’s death in 2024; Lilia remains connected to the shop during WOC1 flashbacks.
Role And Significance
Chrysalis is where Mia creates an ordinary life. Its name mirrors transformation, but the important change is relational rather than magical.
