| Name | Dilated Barrier |

| Mature form | One-millimetre space-time field |
| Function | Spatial deceleration plus temporal acceleration toward entropy |
| Cost | Temporal activation consumes lifespan |
The Dilated Barrier is Archie’s mature automatic defence. A nearly microscopic field combines spatial deceleration with temporal acceleration so incoming matter reaches destructive entropy before contact.
Archie can suppress the lethal effect to permit trusted touch.
Development And Operation
Kinetic Barrier
Archie’s prototype uses space to stop incoming momentum. It requires continuous attention and is exhausting.
Dilated Barrier
The mature field is roughly one millimetre deep. It slows incoming matter spatially and accelerates its temporal decay, preventing contact. Maintaining the field does not itself spend lifespan; each temporal interaction does.
Archie’s fine control allows non-hostile touch. During Operation Zero, repeated attacks saturate the defence while End’s field doubles the temporal cost, converting invulnerability into a resource drain.
History And Development
Evolves from Archie’s early Kinetic Barrier into his mature automatic defence.
Role And Significance
The barrier is a perfect defence with a finite owner. It can stop attacks but cannot make the time spent stopping them infinite.
