The Magiverse is the shared world of The Witch Of Chronicles and its companion series. Modern daily life coexists with a concealed magical society whose institutions, creatures and conflicts are organised around the planetary Ley Lines.

Magic is not an unlimited exception to nature. It is an ecological conversion system with waste, laws and consequences.

World Structure

The Seen And Unseen Worlds

Most people live without awareness of mana, Ley Lines or mage society. They can see the physical result of a spell—fire remains fire—but cannot perceive the mana and structure used to produce it. Mages maintain institutions, settlements and laws in concealed proximity to the ordinary world.

The social binary is imperfect. Mark Nottingham has Magic Perception without a working Gate; Miranda Cosglow perceives magic but lacks Magic Operation; Vincent Vetus builds an entire legendary career around the same missing function.

Metaphysical Ecology

The Ley Lines circulate beneath and through the world. They recycle used energy and dead souls through the Cycle Of Magic and Cycle Of Souls. Life produces the memories and experiences that the system uses to sustain mana and the construct of time.

Cursed Magic is not simply “evil mana.” It is an independent production route that charges empty entropic vessels with intense emotion, gaining freedom from Ley-Line law while returning damaged waste to the ecosystem.

Historical Layers

The Founding Four organise early mage society, establish Arcaneum and leave four houses, artefacts, Domains and political assumptions that continue into the modern era. The three Great Wizarding Wars each expose a different failure in that inheritance: Blight’s rejection of law, Black’s war against coexistence and the collapse following Operation Zero.

By 2045, the Apprentice Of Chronicles generation lives among the sealed consequences of those conflicts.

History And Development

The founder era precedes the modern calendar’s recorded story. The First Great Wizarding War begins with Blight’s cursed-magic schism. The Second grows from Black’s 1892 break with Archie and runs publicly from 1902 to 1920. The Third follows Operation Zero in 2026 and the return of Black.

The WOC era centres on 2025–2027; AOC1 begins in 2045.

Role And Significance

The setting treats lore as a connected ecology: a magical technique changes personal agency, institutional law and the health of the world at the same time. The wiki therefore separates confirmed rules from unresolved plot mechanics so later canon can develop without retroactive contradiction.
