Wurzelheim is a concealed magical borough in England and Lilia Eberhardt’s childhood home. Its protective barrier keeps ordinary intruders out and reinforces the community’s insularity.
Lilia is exiled after taking responsibility for a forbidden thunderstorm, making any return both legally dangerous and personally painful.
Community And Defences
Lilia’s Exile
Lilia and Mai grow up in Wurzelheim before attending Arcaneum. When their forbidden work produces a destructive thunderstorm, Lilia accepts responsibility and is banished. The community becomes a symbol of both belonging and institutional rejection.
Staff Domain
In 2025 Lilia and Tony enter secretly to recover the Staff Of Vetus from a Domain. The Tower’s arrival causes the Domain to decay and pulls the borough into the battle.
Blight’s Massacre
After Tower attacks Tony, Blight takes control. He orders the residents to kneel and uses an aerial Severance attack against those who remain standing. Archie later reverses the borough’s physical damage, but Rule Two prevents the restoration of souls already lost.
The village elder and Lilia reach an emotional reckoning after the catastrophe. Repair does not erase the exile or the dead.
History And Development
Lilia and Mai are raised here. Lilia is exiled around 2022. The Wurzelheim Incident occurs in 2025 and becomes the public basis of Tony’s later trial.
Role And Significance
Wurzelheim makes “home” a place that can shelter, judge and fail a person. Its restoration demonstrates the exact border between Archie’s overwhelming time magic and irreversible death.
