Secrets Of Rosenberg follows Archie Rosenberg and Falkenrath Black in their final Arcaneum year, when a confidential assignment leads them into Project Astaroth.
The arc explores the friendship before its complete history is known to the modern cast.
Sequence
The Assignment
Archie and Black are tested for a prestigious apprenticeship through a mission involving Lisa. Their 1889 pact already prevents them from harming one another.
Asta And The Core
Lisa leads them to Asta. The spirit lowers her defences for Lisa and creates a magical core for Archie. That core becomes his answer to spatial imprecision and later the Dilator.
Ambush
Breach Inc., human military equipment and magical artefacts surround the ruined laboratory. Morningstar isolates Archie and forces his precision breakthrough. Meredith uses Lisa as leverage, kills her and is immediately annihilated by Asta.
Black barely contains Asta with the Spirit Bangle. Afterward he interprets the disaster as proof that plebeians must be removed from magical affairs. Archie refuses to help exterminate them. The pact prevents a physical fight, but the friendship ends. Archie becomes the Mage Of Time; Black leaves to master cursed magic.
History And Development
Culminates in 1892 after Archie and Black’s Arcaneum years from 1885 onward.
Role And Significance
The arc gives the Second War a relationship-scale origin and shows both prodigies gaining what they wanted at the exact moment their shared moral world collapses.
