Purification And Corrosion is the interaction produced when pure Ley-Line magic meets cursed energy. Each tries to remove or damage the other because the two charged states cannot coexist.

A pure barrier can therefore repel a cursed strike while losing integrity in the exchange.

Interaction

WOC1 demonstrates the interaction when Lilia’s barrier repels a curse-powered Mannequin strike and weakens in return. Tony identifies Rule Three as a tactical principle rather than a slogan.

Blight’s survival is a large-scale consequence of the same incompatibility. His cursed-saturated soul is drawn toward the Lines at death but cannot be fully accepted into their pure processing cycle. The result is limbo, not purification or ordinary resurrection.

The Lovers’ Heartbreak uses a violent injection of waste into a surviving Gate to create a comparable internal conflict.

History And Development

The interaction exists naturally under Ley-Line law; cursed practitioners and defenders learn to weaponise or survive it.

Role And Significance

Purification is not a universal cleansing button. Opposition damages both structures and turns defence into an endurance problem.
