The Sword Of Vetus, also called the Sword Of The Hero, is a Legendary weapon that slices through and nullifies magic. It can also channel a user’s magic into an amplified strike.

It is the only currently defined Vetus weapon that a person without innate magic can operate.

Operation

Nicholas Nottingham wields the Sword during the Second Great Wizarding War. Lilia later recovers it and stores it within the Baldric Of Requirement.

In WOC2 she gives the Baldric and Sword to Tony. The choice preserves Tony’s permanent non-magical status while providing a credible defence against spellcasters and the cursed presence sharing his body.

When used by a mage, the weapon can channel and amplify magic through a strike. Exact amplification and negation limits remain TBC.

History And Development

Created by Vetus; carried by Nicholas Nottingham in the Second War; recovered by Lilia; passed to Tony in WOC2.

Role And Significance

The Sword provides external magical agency without treating non-magical identity as a defect that must be cured.
