Operation Zero is a coordinated assault on Arcaneum built around dismantling a powerful defence system one dependency at a time.

Plan And Execution
Infiltration
The Hermit crisis proves Arcaneum has been penetrated years earlier. In 2026, Harbingers and Deathstalkers massacre defenders and force students into the Root Chamber. Blight’s release keeps other major fighters occupied.
White’s E3 Metamorphosis
During the Operation Zero fight, White completes E3 metamorphosis and becomes the Light Dragon. He gains human-level thought and speech, a humanoid form and complete magical immunity while fully draconic. The exact trigger and combat beat remain TBC.
Dismantling Archie
Black enters through Mark Nottingham’s dead body. The attackers destroy the Dilator, making full Spatium unsafe near hostages. End’s entropy field doubles temporal lifespan cost. Repeated attacks force the Dilated Barrier to activate until Archie is destabilised.
They remove Archie’s eyes, eliminating All Seeing Eyes and Tempus targeting. His pact prevents direct harm to Black. Every safe option is gone.
Coerced Suicide
Black orders Archie to kill himself or allow the students to die. Archie chooses the students. After death ends the pact, Black touches the body and copies soul information, memories and imperfect spatial knowledge. Archie’s identity does not persist and Tempus cannot transfer.
The operation succeeds because it treats power as a system of dependencies rather than a number.

Role And Significance
Operation Zero is the story’s definitive tactical statement: nobody becomes invulnerable when power still depends on tools, senses, promises, time and the choice to protect others.
