NameMending
UserBenedict Blight
ClassificationOriginal Ley-Line Expression
FunctionInstant and exceptionally complete restoration
Historical titleBasis of Blight’s reputation as “the Miracle”

Mending is Benedict Blight’s original healing Expression. Before cursed magic, it made him the greatest healer in recorded mage history.

Operation

Blight uses Mending as a founder and public miracle worker. The ability explains both his early desire to improve the world and the authority with which he later argues that magekind should escape natural limitation.

Its relationship to Severance is conceptual opposition: Mending joins and restores; Severance divides. The current canon does not establish that Mending can restore a soul already processed or bypass the Law of Genesis.

History And Development

Blight masters Mending before the First Great Wizarding War and before discovering cursed magic.

Role And Significance

The healer becoming the Lord Of Curses makes Blight’s fall an inversion of purpose rather than a simple acquisition of evil power.
