The Mage Of Time is the Ley Lines’ contracted steward and the only ordinary Ley-Line mage authorised to alter time. The title combines extraordinary power with responsibility for the system itself.

Reinhardt establishes the office; Archie is its best-known modern holder.

Office And Authority

The office is created when Reinhardt becomes the first mage to contract directly with the Ley Lines. Temporal authority operates alongside a natural spatial Expression, producing the historical space-time model later inherited by Archie.

Archie’s Tempus uses the exception but pays every changed duration through Life Dilation. His death ends the personal contract. When Black copies Archie’s soul information, he gains memories and spatial knowledge but not Tempus.

By 2045 the caretaking role is shared in some form among Lilia, Mai and Ken. The exact formal succession of the singular Mage Of Time office versus broader Ley-Line caretaking remains TBC.
