Conflict
Schism
Blight begins as the founders’ great healer. After discovering cursed magic, he argues that a power independent of the Ley Lines allows true free will. Reinhardt and Kyoko reject adoption; Vetus’s early curiosity ends as the research escalates.
Blight demonstrates the mastered system in Arcaneum’s Root Chamber and concludes that his role is no longer to heal within the founders’ order. The ideological break becomes war.
Death And Limbo
Blight kills Kyoko. Reinhardt eventually defeats him, but Blight has saturated his soul with cursed magic. The Ley Lines draw it in and reject it at the same time under the Law of Purity. He remains conscious, unprocessed and without a body.
The surviving institutions ban cursed magic and preserve the four house names despite the betrayal.
History And Development
Earliest of the three named Wizarding Wars; exact start, duration and battlefield chronology remain TBC.
Role And Significance
The war establishes the series’ central political question: whether natural limitation is oppression, and who pays when one person claims freedom from an ecological system.
