Cursed Magic is an inverse magical system discovered by Benedict Blight. It recharges empty mana vessels through intense emotion instead of the Ley Lines, producing stronger and less restricted power.
Its independence is also its danger: spent cursed energy returns damaged carriers to the world and corrodes the systems and minds it touches.
Production And Use
Independent Charge
The Cycle Of Souls normally uses lived experience to refresh empty mana vessels. Cursed Magic imitates that process by forcing intense emotion into the carrier. The result does not depend on the Ley Lines for generation or permission.
Power And Corrosion
Freedom from the six Laws makes cursed Expressions exceptionally dangerous. The same method damages the entropic vessels and leaves corruption marks, cognitive harm and ecological pollution. Its common association with negative emotion is functional rather than merely aesthetic.
History
Blight proposes cursed magic to the other founders as the next stage of human freedom. Their rejection and his secret experiments lead to the First Great Wizarding War. Black later masters cursed soul transfiguration; Harbingers develop concept-driven Cursed Expressions; Deathstalkers follow the cause at lower rarity.
Modern mage society bans the discipline, though scholarship after the Second War studies its consequences through Black and his followers while public records omit Blight.
History And Development
Discovered by Benedict Blight in the founder era; central to all three Great Wizarding Wars and the Harbinger system.
Role And Significance
Cursed Magic is not a free alternative battery. It asks whether escaping a natural law is freedom when the rejected cost is pushed into other bodies and the planet.
