Kyoko Kaedehara is one of the Founding Four, the founder responsible for magical life, spirits and mabeasts. She nurtures or creates many beings that survive in legend and becomes the symbolic origin of House Kaedehara’s kindness.
Kyoko rejects Blight’s cursed magic and is killed by him in the First Great Wizarding War. Her descendant Ken later becomes the Knight Of Spirits, continuing her affinity through a very different relationship with Asta.
Plot
Kyoko joins Reinhardt, Vincent and Benedict in building mage society. Her governing domain is magical life: spirits, mabeasts and the relationships between them and mages.
Her natural Expression channels exceptional raw power through a photosynthetic process, while her practical magic often relies on spirit contracts. She opposes Blight’s proposal to legitimise cursed magic because its independence is purchased through corruption of the magical ecosystem.
Blight kills Kyoko during the First Great Wizarding War. Reinhardt later defeats him, and Kyoko’s death becomes one of the foundational losses behind modern prohibitions on cursed magic.
Role
Thematic Function
Kyoko represents care as a form of magical power. Her legacy connects the founder myth to Miranda’s creature partnerships, Ken’s spirit bond and Arcaneum’s attempt to organise students around values rather than bloodline alone.
Powerset
Kyoko’s Ley-Line Expression converts sunlight through a photosynthetic process into immense raw magical output. She is also a powerful spirit contractor and a creator or nurturer of mabeasts. Exact named techniques and limits are TBC.
Appearance And Personality
Appearance
TBC.
Personality
Exceptionally kind, hopeful and inclined to see good in living beings; later accounts sometimes characterise that hope as naivety.
