About
| Field | Information |
|---|---|
| Name | Artificial Spirit |
| Definition | Constructed magical being with spirit-like identity |
| Confirmed example | Asta / Astaroth |
| Known creator | Vincent Vetus |
| Personhood | Not negated by artificial origin |
An Artificial Spirit is a magical being created rather than naturally born. Asta is the only fully established example and demonstrates that construction does not make a spirit an object.
Known Properties
Vincent Vetus creates Astaroth with extraordinary potential. Project researchers treat her as a weapon and use Lisa as a template or compatible anchor. The resulting abuse, not artificiality itself, drives the 1892 crisis.
Asta begins without an original gender or human identity and later chooses a female presentation. She can create a magical core, inhabit the Spirit Bangle and enter a symbiotic combat bond with Ken.
No mass-produced artificial-spirit class or standard construction method is currently canon.
History And Development
Astaroth is created by Vincent in the founder-era legacy and becomes the centre of the 1892 and 2022 crises.
Role And Significance
The category tests whether mage society recognises personhood when it can point to a maker and intended function.
