| Name | House Blight |
| Institution | Arcaneum |
| Founder | Benedict Blight |
| Central tendency | Power / cunning |
| Colour | Dark purple |
| Known association | Several Harbinger-aligned students; exact roster TBC |
House Blight is Arcaneum’s dark-purple house of power, ambition and cunning. It preserves the name and Serpent symbol of founder Benedict Blight even after his fall.
A Blight placement is not a declaration that a student uses cursed magic or will become a villain.
Identity And Placements
House Blight’s continued existence demonstrates Arcaneum’s claim that traits are morally neutral. Cunning can manipulate or negotiate; the pursuit of power can protect the vulnerable or dominate them.
Its name nevertheless creates a historical burden. Various Harbingers are associated with the house in planning, but the wiki does not assign unconfirmed individuals merely because they use cursed magic.
History And Development
Established with Arcaneum before Blight’s schism and retained afterward.
Role And Significance
Keeping the house forces mage society to separate a founder’s later crimes from every student who shares one of his original traits.
