The Devil is a female Harbinger aligned with the return of Falkenrath Black. Her Curse - Forbidden Fruit offers a target enormous cursed power and then weaponises the corruption produced by accepting it.
The ability makes consent dangerous without making it irrelevant: every later stage depends on the target engaging with the gift.
Plot
Devil belongs to the pro-revival faction of the Order alongside End. She participates in the broader Harbinger conspiracy and later war trajectory.
Her exact match-ups, personal history and ultimate fate are not fixed in the current source hierarchy.

Thematic Function
Devil makes corruption transactional. The victim receives a real advantage, and the curse exploits the moment power becomes more important than self-preservation. This mirrors cursed magic’s wider promise of freedom from law at ecological and personal cost.
Powerset
Curse - Forbidden Fruit has three levels:
- The Temptation: gifts a massive surge of cursed mana, multiplying spell power roughly fivefold while cerebral Corrosion begins.
- The Vice: manipulates a target’s purple corrosion marks, making them burn, freeze or bloom into chains that bind the Gate.
- Damnation: if the target fully embraces the gift, harvests their negative emotions and converts the soul into a one-use cursed battery for an explosion.
