Greenwich is the principal modern-world setting of WOC1. Lilia works at the Chrysalis Bookstore and moves between ordinary life and a magical society hidden alongside it.
Its public streets and historic sites allow magical events to remain physically close to people who cannot perceive their causes.
Known Sites
Greenwich contains the civilian relationships that WOC’s larger metaphysics threaten. Mia befriends Lilia at the bookstore; Tony’s blended family history unfolds nearby; Selene moves through the same ordinary spaces without revealing the Moon conspiracy.
In 2025 the Map Of Veracity sends Lilia, Tony and Mai toward the cemetery when asked for Mia’s killer. They instead encounter Mark Nottingham, whose connection to Tower and magical perception opens the next layer of the case.
During the Third Great Wizarding War, the Observatory becomes associated with a resistance network.
History And Development
Central to the 2023–2025 character histories and later used as a resistance location in 2027.
Role And Significance
Greenwich prevents the magical story from floating away from ordinary life. Bookshops, family dinners and graves remain as consequential as Arcaneum halls.
